Oyin is a registered physiotherapist with the Alberta College of Physiotherapy. She has a Ph.D. in Physiotherapy. She obtained her Master of Science in Physiotherapy from the University of Nottingham, United Kingdom where she specialized in manual therapy. She focuses on treating recurring and new injuries with evidence based physiotherapy practice.

Himani’s journey with Pelvic Floor physiotherapy started at during her third year while doing her training in the maternity ward. Being a seeker of knowledge and one to solve the root issues, Himani took a keen interest in women’s health. During her time not only in school but through her own pregnancy troubles, she knew in her mind there must be a way to help women through these issues. She is a trained Mckenzie therapist, has done Cyriax courses empowering her strong diagnostic skills. She holds expertise in the treatment of muculoskeletal injuries along with spinal injuries, neurological conditions, women’s health, geriatrics and cardiorespiratory physiotherapy. Her treatment approach involves a thorough and comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment followed by highly customised hands on treatments and education about maintenance of pain free state/condition. She focuses on prevention by optimizing posture and biomechanics of our body. Himani does not solely focus on the the body pain but the mind and soul aspects as well. She enjoys nothing more than finding ways to continue her learning, being a mother to her children, spending time in the garden and out in nature.

On your first visit, our physiotherapist will ask you questions about your condition, and perform a thorough physical exam which may include an internal exam component. This will allow for the most comprehensive understanding of the condition to ensure that it is addressed thoroughly. A treatment plan is then designed between the practitioner and patient, through careful consideration of patient-specific goals and their condition. Treatments vary widely between individuals.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

What happens on my first visit?

You will be thoroughly assessed by a highly trained, licensed physiotherapist. Treatments are to be done on subsequent visits.

What shall I wear?

Comfortable, loose fitting clothing is suggested as specific areas in  the body are subject for evaluation and treatment. For instance, if the  issue is on you knee then it’s better to wear shorts or loose fitting  pants that can be rolled up.

How many treatments do I need?

Number of treatments depends on your condition and the severity of your  injury. Everyone responds differently to their type of treatment, but  you will know on day 1, before you leave, what is suggested.

Is a Doctor’s referral necessary?

A doctor’s referral isn’t necessary, but in rare cases, our  physiotherapist may need you to see your doctor to get further testing  done. Note that some extended insurance may require doctor’s referral to  get reimbursements for physiotherapy as well.
